Shetty Karthik, Indian photographer in Paris Streets, golden hour

Shetty Karthik is a multidisciplinary artist based between India and France, working across photography, film, and visual storytelling.

His practice is rooted in observation — of people, places, silence, and the spaces in between. What began alongside a parallel academic path in aviation slowly became the centre of his life’s work: using images to hold emotion, memory, and human presence with honesty.

Today, his work spans portraiture, fine art, fashion, and narratives. Often slow, tactile, and deeply personal, each body of work is less about spectacle and more about feeling — the kind that stays after the image is gone.

Collaborating with global brands and independent projects alike, Karthik approaches every story as an authored experience rather than a deliverable. His images are shaped by intuition, restraint, and a deep respect for the moment being witnessed.

Through his lens, he continues to explore identity, impermanence, and the quiet poetry of everyday life — building a visual language that feels lived, not manufactured.

“Things around you can be used as elements of art too! And the best part is that no one can ever tell you not to express yourself with something unique in your work. I like to use quirks and distinctive unique environment to add an interesting aesthetic to the frame and storytelling instead of taking a traditional portrait”.
